How We Help

How we help you create Return on Collaboration

ROCeteer helps organisations design better collaboration, mobilise the right people and turn collective effort into measurable outcomes.

From teams and organisations to industries and entire systems, we design the structures, relationships and ways of working that help people achieve more together than they could alone.

Every ROCeteer engagement is designed around one question:

    What happened because we collaborated?

Solutions are where we work alongside you. If you would rather start with a tool, our products — assess, design and measure collaboration. If you want to build the capability inside your organisation, start with Learning.

    What ROCeteers actually do

    We make the collaboration work.

You're not hiring ROCeteer simply to facilitate a workshop. You're hiring us to design, build and operate the collaboration required to achieve an outcome that no single organisation can deliver alone.

That can mean defining the challenge, mapping the system, designing the collaboration architecture, finding the right partners, creating new initiatives, connecting solutions with adopters, facilitating important decisions, building capability, orchestrating delivery and measuring whether the collaboration is actually creating value.

    See the whole system.

We investigate the challenge, the actors involved and the conditions shaping their behaviour.

    Typical work
    • framing complex challenges
    • defining the problem and desired outcome
    • stakeholder and ecosystem mapping
    • interviews and discovery
    • relationship and dependency mapping
    • incentive and barrier analysis
    • identifying competing agendas and power dynamics
    • understanding existing initiatives and capabilities
    • identifying system leverage points
    • diagnosing collaboration health
    • identifying gaps, friction and opportunities
    Measure · Learn · Adapt

Collaboration is not designed once and left alone. We continuously measure what is happening, learn from the system and adapt the approach.

A facilitator is responsible for the meeting.

ROCeteer is responsible for the collaboration.

We may design and facilitate workshops, but the work starts before people enter the room and continues long after they leave.

Our job is to create the relationships, structures, incentives, initiatives, decisions and momentum required for the collaboration to produce results.

    Do you need a ROCeteer?

If you already know exactly what needs to happen, everyone involved is aligned, decisions are easy to make and you control all the resources required to deliver the outcome, you probably don't need us.

ROCeteer becomes valuable when the outcome depends on:

    • multiple organisations
    • different agendas
    • complex relationships
    • competing incentives
    • fragmented capabilities
    • uncertainty
    • people you don't control

When the outcome depends on collaboration, we design the conditions that make collaboration work.

    Five ways ROCeteer helps

The goal is not more collaboration. It is better collaboration that creates value.

    01

    Collaboration Strategy & Design

    Design collaboration that creates value.

Great collaboration rarely happens by accident. We help organisations deliberately design the relationships, structures, governance and conditions needed for people to work effectively together.

    02

    Ecosystems & Collective Action

Mobilise organisations around challenges none can solve alone.

Some challenges are bigger than any one organisation. We design and activate collaborations that bring businesses, governments, communities, researchers and other stakeholders together around shared outcomes.

    03

    Open Innovation & Challenge Programs

Bring more minds to your hardest problems.

We design open innovation programs that connect organisations with new ideas, technologies and solutions from outside their traditional boundaries. From clearly defining the challenge through to sourcing solutions, selecting partners and moving into pilots, we design the collaboration around innovation — not just the competition.

    04

Supply Chain & Value Chain Collaboration

Turn your value chain into a collaborative advantage.

Many of the biggest opportunities — and risks — sit beyond the boundaries of a single organisation. We help customers, suppliers, partners and industries work together to improve resilience, accelerate innovation, reduce emissions and create shared value across the value chain.

    05

    Collaboration Capability & Culture

Build organisations that are better at working together.

Collaboration becomes powerful when it is a capability, not an occasional event. We help leaders, teams and organisations understand how well they collaborate today and build the skills, behaviours, structures and systems required to make great collaboration repeatable.

    ROC Co-Labs

    Not another workshop.

ROC Co-Labs are carefully designed collaborative interventions that bring the right people together around a specific outcome — combining facilitation, systems thinking, co-design and action planning to move from conversation to action.

Co-Labs are used within Collaboration Strategy & Design, Ecosystems & Collective Action, Supply Chain & Value Chain Collaboration, and Open Innovation & Challenge Programs.

    The ROCeteer Method

Different challenges. One repeatable approach to collaboration.

    Who we work with

Built for challenges that cross boundaries.

ROCeteer works with leaders who can't achieve the outcome alone — where progress depends on people and organisations aligning, contributing and acting together.

    01

    Companies & Business Leaders

When growth, transformation, innovation or resilience depends on others working differently together.

Organisations needing stronger collaboration across teams, functions, suppliers, customers, partners or external stakeholders.

    02

    Government & Public Sector

When complex public challenges require coordinated action across organisations, sectors and communities.

Departments, agencies, public-sector organisations and public-private initiatives tackling problems no single institution can solve.

    03

    Industry & Value Chain Leaders

When progress requires suppliers, customers, competitors and industry bodies to move together.

Industry associations, anchor customers, procurement and supply-chain leaders, business councils and those mobilising a whole value chain.

    04

    Foundations, NGOs & Mission-Led Organisations

When impact depends on mobilising diverse stakeholders around shared outcomes.

Foundations, charities, NGOs and purpose-led groups working on complex social, environmental or systemic challenges.

    05

    Conveners & Ecosystem Builders

When your role is to create the conditions for communities, coalitions, peer groups and ecosystems to succeed.

Organisations building networks, innovation ecosystems, cross-sector collaborations, collective-action initiatives and peer groups.
