How do we collaborate for the whole?
Planetary Collaboration represents the broadest scale of collective action.
It concerns challenges and opportunities that cross industries, systems, nations and cultures and whose ultimate boundary is the living planet — climate change, biodiversity loss, oceans, planetary health and the stewardship of global commons.
Planetary Collaboration recognises that human societies and economies do not exist independently of nature. Every individual, team, organisation, industry and human system ultimately operates within an interconnected planetary system.
At this level, collaboration is not simply about creating value for participating organisations. It is about creating conditions in which humanity and the wider living planet can thrive together.
The ultimate boundary of collaboration is the living planet every other scale sits inside.
The dimensions are nested, but they are not independent. System collaboration still depends on people being able to build trust. Industry collaboration still depends on organisations working across boundaries. Planetary collaboration ultimately depends on millions of individuals, teams and institutions learning to collaborate more effectively.
