Have you ever had a story within you that was bursting inside you to get out? Something world-changing?
How would you make sure your story was spread?
Our next guest is grappling with exactly that.
Please tell us about yourself:
My name is Ginny Scales Medeiros. I am a writer, entrepreneur and sometime real estate tycoon.
You are working on something pretty cool. Care to share a little bit about that?
I wrote a novel in 2012 called “What is #normal,” about one woman’s struggle to live what she thought was a “normal” life. It is about to be reprinted for its second edition.
Pamala L. Hall has adapted it into a screenplay and I’m excited to see where that may lead!
What made you decide to follow that path?
I grew up with modest means. We made do with what we had, and only used what was needed. I also felt it was important to replace what I could. For example, the trailer I was raised in was later repurposed as a chicken coop.
I was born a salesperson and after much success in the material space I found I was unfulfilled. I started thinking – What if I could use my gifts and talents to improve the world and make a living, too?
So I started to live my life with intention, and walk my talk. I even gave up my gas-powered car years ago to help make the world a better place.
What outcome do you hope to achieve?
I want to remind people that we were born on #purpose to experience and better our world.
I believe that my purpose is to inspire and motivate others. I want to help people believe in themselves, no matter what the circumstance.
Walk us through your average day:
I wake up early, thankful for another day. I then pray, meditate and hike.
Everyday I plant seeds in the garden of my dreams: emails, phone calls, and meetings, working toward my goal to someday see my book turned into a movie.
If you were stranded on a deserted island, what 3 things would you bring?
The book “God Calling”, to keep my mind and spirit open.
A Mirror, to start fires and signal for help (and cook bugs if necessary!)
A knife, to cut trees for shelter and help with food.
