Keith Wright once told me, “If you want to change the world, go smile at someone.”
Interviewing our next guest reminded me of that quote. She’s spreading her message of positivity and inspiring people around the world.
Please tell us about yourself:
I am Jill Liberman; media veteran, former radio talk show host and author. I have a passion for all things creative and love to inspire.
You are working on something pretty cool. Care to share a little bit about that?
My newest book, “Choose Happy” was just published. It is a go-to-guide to living a happy life every day. It’s whimsical and filled with quips and tips. The response led to Choosehappy.co, a subscription based site where people can find great content including thoughts for the day, a blog and newsletter.
What made you decide to follow that path?
I think the best thing to be is happy! There are people who always seem happy and people who almost never are. I want to spread the powerful message that everyone can be happy.
It is a choice. It inspires me to motivate others.
We can’t always control circumstances but we can definitely control the way we choose to view them.
What outcome do you hope to achieve?
I want to help people embrace happiness. One way to do that is to surround yourself with positive people who make you feel good. I hope the book and website give that environment. A place people can go for encouragement. We all go through challenges. I want to help people learn how to view those circumstances as opportunities and not difficulties.
Walk us through an average day
My day usually starts about 6:30 with breakfast, my favorite meal. After breakfast (ok during breakfast) I check e mails and my text messages and set goals for the day.
I’m lucky to work for myself and to live in a warm climate so I can work from anywhere with my laptop or tablet, enjoy the fresh air and sunshine, and still be productive.
I devote different days to specific tasks: Some days will be my writing days when I write my blogs or entries for the newsletter and other days will be devoted to social media or a new project. I also spend time exercising; I’m not a gym person, but I love to walk or do Pilates. When I do, I turn up the music and enjoy the time.
I will then have dinner with my wonderful husband, who likes to cook for me. We use dinner time to catch up on the news and on each other’s day. I often receive e mails from people in other countries who are in different time zones, so evenings are when I reply to them.
I am a big believer in the power of a good night sleep and the early to bed early to rise philosophy.
If you were stranded on a deserted island, what 3 things would you bring?
My husband, our son and a smile!
Thank you for sharing, Jill! You can find her on ChooseHappy.co!
