Our fearless leader and The Red Pill, Mark Rowland, appeared in the October webinar series for happiness Works, explaining the benefits of using the happiness At Work survey for DTP in Las Vegas. Here are Five happiness strategies he suggested that can make a difference in your company.
1. Connect
Relationships are critical to people’s happiness at work – having colleagues who you get along with and treat you with respect is one of the cornerstones of a good job.
2. Be fair
Feeling that things are unfair can be very corrosive in terms of employees’ morale. Getting the basics right regarding fair pay and allowing people a decent work-life balance are two important foundations for creating a happy place to work.
3. Support
Supporting people to feel in control of their work and ensuring that they get to use their strengths is very empowering for employees. Organisations that get this right are rewarded with happier, more motivated employees.
4. Challenge
Giving people the opportunity to learn new skills and gain a sense of achievement from their job is great for personal and professional development as well as being highly enjoyable.
5. Inspire
Last but not least, people thrive when they feel the work they are doing is genuinely worthwhile and makes a positive contribution to the world outside of the organisation.
